TPO and PVC Roofing
TPO and PVC Roofing in Las Vegas
Flat roofs need a capable membrane, and two materials dominate that conversation right now, which are none other than TPO and PVC. Both are installed across Las Vegas every day on homes, warehouses, retail buildings, and apartment complexes.
They look similar, installation process for both are similar, and both outperform older flat roofing materials in most conditions. But, similar as they may be in many aspects, they are not the same product. Choosing between them matters more than most property owners realize when they start getting quotes.
One Roofing Company has been the #1 TPO and PVC Roofer in Las Vegas for over 30 years. If you are trying to figure out which one of these roofing membranes makes sense for your property, or you already have one installed and need repair work done, trust us to get the job done right.
We are a licensed, insured and bonded roofing firm in Las Vegas, serving nearby communities.
What Is TPO Roofing?
TPO stands for thermoplastic polyolefin. It comes in large sheets that are rolled out across the roof surface and heat-welded at the seams, creating bonds that are actually stronger than the membrane itself when the work is done right.
The surface is typically white or light grey, which reflects solar radiation rather than absorbing it.
In a city where rooftop temperatures can climb well past 150 degrees on a summer afternoon, that reflectivity is not a small thing.
Less heat absorbed at the roof surface means less heat pushing into the building below, which translates directly to lower cooling costs during the months your HVAC runs hardest.
Where TPO Works Well?
TPO is widely used in Las Vegas and nearby communities for commercial and residential flat roofing applications.
It is UV-resistant to a good extent and can handle it well, resists the chemical weathering that breaks down older membrane types, and holds up through the thermal expansion and contraction that Las Vegas extreme temperature swings put roofing systems through.
It also tends to come in at a lower installed cost than PVC, which makes it the practical choice for budget-conscious projects where performance requirements are standard.
What Is PVC Roofing?
PVC, or polyvinyl chloride, is also a single-ply membrane like the TPO membrane, installed and seamed using heat welding. It is similar to TPO on many levels and has many identical characteristics but has some distinct advantages in specific situations.
PVC has been around longer than TPO and is well-known for its durability, longevity and performance.
It is highly resistant to chemicals, grease, and oils, which makes it a preferred choice for restaurant rooftops, commercial kitchens, and any facility where exhaust systems discharge onto the roof surface.
It also offers excellent fire resistance and performs particularly well in environments where the membrane is likely to come into contact with harsh substances that would degrade other materials over time.
Where PVC Has the Edge?
For properties with rooftop kitchen exhaust, industrial applications, or situations where chemical exposure is a real concern, PVC is generally the stronger recommendation.
It costs more than TPO, but in the right application the durability and chemical resistance justify the difference.
TPO vs PVC — Which One Is Right for You?
The honest answer is that it depends on the specific property and how the roof is used. For most standard commercial and residential flat roofing applications in Las Vegas, TPO delivers excellent performance at a competitive price. For properties with chemical exposure concerns or more demanding use cases, PVC is worth the additional investment.
During our free inspection, we look at your existing roof, discuss how the building is used, and give you a straightforward recommendation. We do not push one product over another for reasons that benefit us rather than you.
Installation andRepair Services
New Roof Installation
Both TPO and PVC installations involve surface preparation, insulation placement where required, membrane layout, heat-welded seaming, and proper termination at all edges, drains, curbs, and penetrations.
Every installation follows manufacturer specifications, which matters for both long-term performance and warranty validity.
Membrane and Seam Repairs
Seam separations, punctures from foot traffic or debris, and membrane deterioration around penetrations are the most common repair issues we see on both TPO and PVC roofs.
At One Roofing Company, our team carry out repairs using compatible materials rather than generic patches that fail under UV exposure.
Flashing Repairs
The flashing details at parapet walls, roof edges, drains, and HVAC curbs are where most flat roof leaks begin. By default, we carefully inspect and address these common areas on our visit for any anomalies, and recommend if any fixes are needed.
Roof Maintenance
At One Roofing Company, we offer maintenance services to our residential and clients. It is an essential service that helps extend the life of flat roofing systems significantly.
As a premier TPO and PVC roofer in Las Vegas, we suggest you don’t ignore the importance of roof maintenance to save yourself from avoidable repair and replacement expenses in the future, much earlier than anticipated.
